We have a specialist French teacher, Vanessa Samandi, who comes from Warden Park Secondary Academy to teach the children weekly French lessons in the Juniors.

Vanessa is a french native speaker, and has been teaching French in Sussex for the past 21 years, mostly as a secondary school teacher. The children benefit hugely from her expertise and secondary schools are always very impressed by the high standards of French speaking from Handcross Primary School children.

As well as ensuring that children develop their speaking, listening and reading of French as they progress through the Juniors, we ensure that children become familiar with a wide range of French songs, stories, customs and celebrations in order to foster an appreciation of French culture.
